Saundra Davis take a fresh look at the ‘envelope system’ that she uses to assist clients with budgeting. Here, she tries the system out for one of her budget categories – food – and finds that in order to stay within the budget, she is forced to plan and choose her menu in advance. Overall, she finds that her food budget is set about right for her food consumption and decides to ‘check’ or start an envelope system for another budget category half-way through the month.
