CLU Service Day in the Garden

Filed under: Uncategorized — sthomas @ 10:59 am

On Saturday over 200 CLU students, faculty, and staff volunteered their time for campus and community beautification. About 25 students spent 3 hours toiling away in the new CLU Garden. We built raised beds, collected rocks, and moved a whole lot of dirt, and now we’re that much closer to getting some seeds in the ground! Perhaps more important, we all had the experience of working together to create something new and exciting. Food can bring people together even before it gets planted!

CLU Food Garden Underway!

Filed under: Uncategorized — sthomas @ 3:54 pm

The CLU Food Garden has been in the plans for a little while, and recently a group of students, faculty, and staff has begun making the plans a reality. The site has been selected, the soil has been prepared, and a fence has been put up (sorry deer, squirrels, coyotes, and rabbits: this food is for people). Stay tuned for future developments!

In the meantime if you want to get involved with the Garden, contact Kayla Kilpatrick at clugrowinggreen@callutheran.edu.
