0.7 mile from MSU campus, 1.8 miles from home, East Lansing Public Library was not a stop on my everyday route to work. It was the summer of 2009 when Miles was born and drastically changed the ecological map of my life. The 5 minute drive to ELPL suddenly became not just a convenient everyday experience but, more often than not, it presented itself as an emergency run whenever that baby was getting everything out of control. My fatherhood was filled with BabyTime, StoryTime, ToddlerTime, Mommy Time, Read to a Dog, Puppet Show, etc. I checked out more books and DVDs from ELPL than the MSU Library.

East Lansing Public Library, another special place in East Lansing where Miles and I developed many shared memories, is located on Abbot Road, East Lansing. The picture I grabbed from the Internet vividly depicts the image on my mind of the E.L. Library. There were always kids and parents walking in and out with tons of books in their hand and smiles on their faces.
