On view March 14 – April 5, 2009
Location: Kwan Fong Gallery
International installation artists Megan and Murray McMillan will use the Kwan Fong Gallery as their studio to produce an installation built especially for California Lutheran University. Their work is strongly influenced by performers they work with and the locations where they film.
Working with CLU design students, they will use the campus as their canvas and members of the community as their performers.
The McMillans have exhibited nationally and internationally including at the National Museum of Art in La Paz, Bolivia, and Preview Berlin: The Emerging Art Fair. In 2007, they participated in the 10th International Istanbul Biennial and are represented by Qbox Gallery in Athens, Greece. The McMillans currently live and work in Providence, R.I. The public is invited to watch them produce their work in the gallery and join in the creation of this intriguing piece of cutting edge art.
Admission is free. The Artists in Residence project is made possible by a generous grant from the CLU’s Artists and Speakers Committee and the President¹s Office. The Kwan Fong Gallery, located in Soiland Humanities Center, is open to the public Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
