Paul Lucchesi is a figurative sculpture and painter who is inspired by Italian Renaissance and Baroque sculpture. He works with mythical images and psychological contemporary issues.

Lucchesi is known all over the world as a fine artist and instructor who loves teaching the art of making sculpture in a fun setting. Using terra cotta as his material, he quickly brings his clay to life, finding a wonderful living form within the rising sculpture. Visitors will be able to watch one of these magnificent creations emerge from the clay as he uses the gallery as his studio. His graceful works have won him numerous prizes from prestigious organizations including the National Sculpture Society and the National Academy of Design.

CLU is fortunate to have Lucchesi in residence at the Kwan Fong Gallery this fall. As an extraordinary outcome of the workshop, one of the works he creates will remain at the University. The piece will be cast in bronze and displayed as part of the ongoing sculpture collection within the landscape of the campus.
