On view October 16 – November 19, 2010
Artist and CLU Instructor, Barry Burns, will present 18 recent paintings which feature collage, 3-D textured surfaces, and surrealistic painting methods. Each canvas creates a fusion of subjective dreamscapes and dynamic narratives that illuminate the calm and the chaos in all facets of our lives.
Burns’ imaginative process for this work begins with automatic sculpting and painting, lucid use of collage, and critical interpretation. Finally, refined painting of chaotic phenomena identifies the language of the unconscious world in the form of an image. Burns describes his work as a peaceful emergence of complete worlds within chaotic dream imagery. His works are in private collections throughout the United States.
Admission is free. Please join us for the opening reception on Saturday, October 16, at 7:00 p.m.
