Asian-born, Russian-raised and U.S.-educated Storojev creates sculptural pieces that present a wide and intimate familiarity with different media as diverse and eclectic as his background. Side by side with stone figures are sculptures fashioned in metal, some of them in the form of majestic copper fountains which emit quieting sounds and billows of mysterious water vapor illuminated by colored lights. Bronze figures, busts in terra cotta and a large rust-colored metal “bug” round out some of the interesting sculptures created by this CLU sculpture instructor.
