Scenes from Communist countries will be on display.
Vietnam, China, Laos, North Korea and Cuba are the last remaining bastions of Communist ideology. These photographs, which document the reality of living in these areas, will provoke strong reactions from visitors as they catch a glimpse of everyday life behind forbidden borders and without the influence of the corporate media.
Photographer Brian Stethem, who teaches photography and art at CLU, provides a glimpse into the lives of ordinary folk in China through his images. Xiang Chen, a CLU philosophy professor and native of China, provides an insider’s view of Tibet. Morgan Alexander of Ojai documents murals and other features of Cuba in her photographs.
