Lecture by Brad Monsma and Amiko Matsuo
Are things worthy of ethical consideration? How do the disappearing distinctions between human and non-human, living and non-living, shift our notions of community? With reference to their own work and to that of other artists, Matsuo and Monsma consider how art of the “Material Turn” challenges traditional ideas of artistic agency and collaboration to raise questions about the nature of communities and the compass of ethical considerations. Free and open to the public Reception to follow in Kwan Fong Gallery of Art and Culture.
