Majoring in Communications was a great choice for me because while marketing is about numbers and academics, advertising design is creative. I get the best of both worlds which is very much who I am.

I’ve always been plugged in to current events. What fascinates me as much as the news stories themselves is what goes on behind the scenes to produce them. I always knew it was a process I had to be a part of.
I’m an OMS-I at LECOM pursuing a degree in Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.). I am also funding my education through a military scholarship as a Second Lieutenant in the US Air Force (which I highly recommend to any aspiring docs, by the way).
I am doing mostly doing field work for California State Parks. From invasive plant management, vegetation surveys, endangered animal surveys and outreach, to growing plants in our nursery for upcoming restoration projects, to nocturnal pollinator studies, and much more.
Callie, whom I play, has to figure out how to love herself before she can truly love Sara. I think that this is a very important message because I believe that loving oneself is the truest form of love and is necessary to survive.
The research I conducted this year was in the area of neutrino physics, in association with the MicroBooNE collaboration at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory.
I have found purpose at Cal Lutheran. I do not know where I will be in 5 or 10 years, but I feel that right now I am where I belong.
The Swenson Summer Research Fellowship has provided me with the opportunity to not only expand my organic chemistry knowledge, but to also delve into the world of scientific discovery and grow as a student, researcher, and a person.
I’m the music production department assistant, as well as the person who was in charge of Cal LuPalooza last year, so I’m taking a leadership role again this year to help the event be even bigger than last year.
I am a junior at Cal Lutheran, expected to graduate spring of 2016 with a B.A. in Sociology. I am a full time student, as well as a student athlete playing soccer, and a full time mother to my soon to be one year old daughter, Elsie.
